Camila Cabello has released a new version of her hit single ‘Never Be The Same’, featuring rising country star Kane Brown.
The ‘Never Be The Same’ remix was unveiled at midnight and is now the best-selling song on the US iTunes chart. There are subtle differences in the melody which give the song a country feel, but it’s Kane’s vocals which truly give the song a new edge. Not only does he deliver the second verse but he also provides some additional harmonies which accompany Camila’s breathy vocals throughout the chorus.
Tweeting about the remix, Camila said that she “always imagined another version of the song sounding like this”. In a post on Instagram, she also revealed how the collaboration came about.
“When we were writing this song, @frankdukes kept telling me “the melodies you’re doing make it feel like this could be a country song” !!!!! Ever since we finished writing it I always thought this could be reimagined with a country artist, and I heard Kane brown’s song “What Ifs” one day and freaked out!!!!” Camila said.
“I was like he’s the PERFECT artist to do this with…. I’m so so excited about this and hope you love it as much as I do and thank you Kane for your magical voice, this song tells a different story now.”
‘Never Be The Same’ is sitting just outside of the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 at the moment and peaked at number seven in the UK singles charts. Following the release of the remix, we’re certain that the track will receive an additional boost, possibly leading to an even higher chart position.
Camila is currently in the middle of her headline Never Be The Same world tour. She will also be supporting Taylor Swift on her Reputation world tour over the coming months.
